It is a huge misinterpretation of the ancient practice of meditation that teaches you must control thought and emotion. You don't need to. You only have to OBSERVE THEM.
Meditation is about learning to observe you own inner world, not as an adversary, trying to make conform to your will, but as an advocate, simply watching, lovingly, compassionately and consistently.
Really, that's it! It's like learning to listen intently to a good friend.
Now, how hard it that?
